JOHANNESBURG, Feb 7 (Reuters)South African President Cyril Ramaphosa stated on Friday that his authorities didn’t agree with plans to chop a few of struggling South African Airways’ (SAA) home routes, plunging rescue efforts for the cash-strapped service into uncertainty.

State-owned SAA entered a type of chapter safety in December and is combating for its survival.

Specialists appointed to attempt to rescue SAA stated on Thursday that SAA would stop flights to Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth from Feb. 29, in addition to chopping some worldwide routes, as a part of efforts to preserve money and make the airline extra enticing to potential fairness companions.

SAA flights to Cape City will proceed on a lowered foundation, the specialists stated.

The general public enterprises ministry, which oversees SAA, stated it needed the route adjustments reviewed.
