    1. Talks between the government and opposition parties over which bills to rush through before Parliament shuts down are ongoing
    2. The PM’s flagship bill to eventually ban smoking looks set to be shelved, after he called a surprise July general election
    3. Legislation to pay compensation to victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal has passed. A bill for compensation for the infected blood scandal looks set to also pass
    4. It comes as Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer and leaders of other main parties spent the day campaigning after the general election was called on Wednesday
    5. Speaking from Derbyshire on the first stop of his UK tour, Sunak told the BBC that economic stability had returned
    6. He has also confirmed that flights to Rwanda, removing migrants who cross the Channel in small boats, will not set off before the election
    7. At a rally in Kent, Starmer said it was “time to turn the page” and to “end the chaos”
