The First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 1.1 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 78,000. Shares of FTXR were up about 2.3% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Ford Motor, trading up about 8.1% with over 139.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and American Airlines Group, up about 0.2% on volume of over 16.3 million shares. Nikola is the component faring the best Thursday, up by about 8.7% on the day, while Fedex is lagging other components of the First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF, trading lower by about 0.2%.
