Hyderabad, June 30 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday registered a case against three persons, including two former Superintendents and one Inspector of Customs posted at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, on allegations of conspiracy and corruption.

It is alleged that on March 16, CISF personnel at RGIA intercepted two private individuals, including a loader, who were exchanging foreign currency equivalent to Rs. 2,93,425 with Indian currency.

These individuals, residents of Bahadurpura, Hyderabad, were found carrying Indian currency amounting to Rs. 4,04,380, a CBI statement said on Sunday.

The foreign currency was allegedly provided to these private individuals by the three accused officials from the Customs Department at RGIA, Hyderabad.

These officials allegedly obtained the currency from international passengers in exchange for not imposing customs duties or imposing lower customs duties. This corrupt practice was reportedly being carried out regularly.

As part of investigations, the CBI conducted searches at four locations, including three in Hyderabad and one in Delhi, resulting in the recovery of incriminating documents.
