China’s foreign-exchange reserves unexpectedly edged up in November, despite a weaker Chinese yuan against the U.S. dollar amid tariff threats from the impending second Trump administration. The country’s foreign-exchange reserves rose $4.8 billion to $3.266 trillion at the end of November, the People’s Bank of China said Saturday. Official data also showed China’s central bank restarted its purchase of gold after a six-month pause in November.
