Despite Shanghai going into lockdown for the next nine days, Chinese state media is reporting that chipmaker SMIC has stated that operations are still normal at its Shanghai factories. That will be some light comfort to the global supply chain issues and especially more so the global chip shortage problem.
The latter is already expected to run through until the end of 2022 and so, repeated lockdowns such as these will only set back the outlook.
