Credit Suisse Loses Bid to End Antitrust Suit Over Forex Rigging

Credit Suisse Group AG must face an antitrust trial over its role in an alleged scheme by top banks to manipulate foreign exchange markets, a federal judge in Manhattan ruled, saying a jury should decide if there was a single overarching conspiracy before determining if the bank participated.

Judge Lorna G. Schofield denied summary judgment Tuesday to both Credit Suisse and the currency traders leading the case. It would be reasonable to conclude that there was a vast conspiracy or that there wasn’t, “depending on the inferences that are drawn and the evidence that is credited,” she said.
