Vadodara: A father-son duo was booked for duping nearly 60 people on the pretext of sending them abroad for jobs. The accused duo also cheated the aspirants of Rs 3 crore.
A complaint regarding the same was filed by Nila Parmar with the Fatehgunj police. Parmar wanted to shift to Canada on a work visa and hence, approached one of the accused, Rajendra Shah in 2022. Shah along with his son, Rinkesh promised her the visa on payment of Rs 5 lakh. Parmar paid the money but her visa did not arrive. She then demanded her money back, following which she was handed over a cheque that bounced.
The accused returned Rs 2 lakh but did not give back the rest of the amount, following which Parmar approached the cops. Other 59 victims are said to be duped similarly. tnn
