Normal Motors Co. stated Monday it plans to take a position greater than $76 million into two U.S.-based factories to fulfill demand for its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. GM’s Tonawanda, N.Y., engine plant will obtain the majority of the funding, with the Parma, Ohio, plant receiving about $6 million. The Tonawanda funding might be used to extend capability on the engine block machining line and the Parma funding might be used to assemble 4 new metallic meeting cells to help elevated truck manufacturing volumes, GM stated.
