Jonathan Brewer joins GCEX as Chief Revenue Officer

Digital prime brokerage GCEX Group has announced that it has appointed FX industry veteran Jonathan Brewer as the company’s new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Based in the UK, Jonathan Brewer’s focus will be on driving growth from institutional and professional clients across all GCEX entities including the UK, Denmark and UAE.

The move comes after GCEX Group had a fairly rough 2023, with Revenues down 48% due to what the company called “crypto winter,” leading to depressed crypto trading volumes, although those seem to have picked up in 2024 year-to-date.

Jonathan Brewer has a strong track record of success in growing electronic trading businesses and an in-depth understanding of the liquidity and technology requirements of institutional clients worldwide. As Co-Founder/Managing Partner of IS Prime and Commercial Director of ISAM Capital Markets, he played a key role in founding, building and scaling the firm, before leaving (alongside his IS Prime co-founder Raj Sitlani) in early 2023. Prior to co-founding IS Prime, his career spanned over a decade of senior sales and management roles at Goldman Sachs and Sucden Financial, with a focus on e-FX solutions.

At GCEX, Jonathan Brewer will work closely with Lars Holst, Founder & CEO, on the firm’s growth strategy. His remit includes driving the expansion of GCEX’s presence and product range, growing the firm into a global market leader, with an unwavering focus on investor protection.
