Garden Grove, California-based LQNN Inc. is recalling Banh Ba Xa and varieties of Banh Pia products under Saigon Gourmet brand, according to the U.S Food and Drug Administration or FDA.

These products may contain undeclared egg, a known allergen.

The recalled products, manufactured by Tan Hue Vien, include BANH PIA’s Mung Bean Durian, Mung Bean Pumpkin, Taro Durian, Black Sesame Durian, Classic Mung Bean Durian, Mung Bean Pineapple, Pandan Durian, Red Bean Durian, Liu Sha Pumpkin and FRZ CAKE Ba Xa Lady.

These products are packaged in various colors of foil bags, with various lot numbers and best by dates.

The called-back products were distributed nationwide to Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington to wholesalers, markets, retail stores, and on-line websites.

The recall was initiated when it was determined that the affected products may have been applied with egg wash. Further investigation revealed that the problem may have been caused by a mistake in the manufacturer’s production and packaging process.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg may run the risk of serious allergic reactions if they consume these products.

So far, the company has not received any report of illnesses related to the impacted products.

The agency is urging customers to return the impacted products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

In similar recalls, Woodbridge, Ontario-based Summer Fresh Salads Inc., earlier this month, recalled its Wegmans Harissa Hummus Topped With Harissa as they may contain undeclared sesame, a known allergen.

Austin, Minnesota-based Hormel Foods recalled around 945 pounds of spiced deli ham products citing misbranding and undeclared milk, a known allergen.
