RABAT, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) — Morocco’s international change reserves elevated to 25.89 billion U.S. {dollars} by Dec. 13, with a rise of seven.1 p.c year-on-year, Morocco’s central financial institution mentioned Saturday in its periodical report.
From Dec. 12 to 18, the central financial institution injected 6.5 billion U.S {dollars} within the monetary market, it mentioned including that in the identical interval, the native forex dirham appreciated by 0.36 p.c towards the usdollar and depreciated by 0.11 p.c towards the euro.
In January 2018, Morocco began the gradual floating of its forex by elevating the official band of dirham’s fluctuation to 2.5 p.c above or under the official price from the earlier 0.three p.c.
The dirham is pegged to a two-currency basket weighted 60 p.c to the euro and 40 p.c to the U.S. greenback.
