HARDING TWP. – “Retreat,” a new TV series set to air later this year on FX, filmed some scenes at Brook Valley Farm on Loantaka Way on Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29.
Filming began during the day on April 28 and went late into the night, according to location manager Andrew Scudder. Day 2 filming did not begin until about 5:30 p.m. on April 29.
Security blocked off the property for the entirety of the shoot, even when no filming was going on.
The crew had multiple spots set up with various pieces of filming equipment such as lifts on April 29, including in front of the white house next to the Gibbons Horse Barn and a farther down the road across the street from the entrance to Loantaka Brook Park.
Several equipment trucks were lined up along the back of the property in anticipation of the day’s shoot.
The production company would not allow anyone to take any photos on site, stating that non-disclosure agreements with the actors would need to be signed first for liability purposes.
The six-episode miniseries stars Emma Corrin alongside Clive Owen, show co-creator Brit Marling, and more. Corrin is best known for her role as Princess Diana in “The Crown” on Netflix. Owen is best known for portraying Larry in the 2004 film “Closer.”
According to the synopsis, Corrin plays gen Z amateur sleuth Darby Hart. She and 11 other guests are invited to a retreat hosted by a reclusive billionaire at a remote location. One of the other guests winds up dying and Hart is tasked with proving it was murder.
The series is written, directed and executive produced by Marling and Zal Batmanglij – the team behind “The OA” on Netflix.
