Blackburn’s first two Asian girls councillors have been deselected for talking out in opposition to old style attitudes, it has been claimed.
Saima Afzal and Maryam Batan lodged complaints about how the choice was run and the way they had been handled once they had been dropped on 7 February.
Sources say they had been changed with Asian girls who would “toe the road”.
The Labour Get together mentioned correct procedures weren’t adopted and the choice course of was to be re-run on Friday.
Ms Afzal and Ms Batan had been seen as trailblazers once they had been elected in May 2018.
