Arron Banks funded the Go away.EU marketing campaign
A dispute between the Electoral Fee and Brexit campaigner Arron Banks has been settled.
Mr Banks, who funded Go away.EU, threatened take the watchdog to court docket for defamation in October 2019.
The fee had referred Mr Banks to the Nationwide Crime Company (NCA) a yr earlier, after his marketing campaign was fined for breaking electoral regulation in the course of the 2016 Brexit referendum.
However the NCA discovered “no proof” of legal offences.

The NCA stated it will take no additional motion towards Go away.EU, its chief government Liz Bilney or Mr Banks.

Mr Banks’ grievance was concerning the Electoral Fee’s announcement in November 2018 of its referral of Mr Banks and Ms Bilney to the NCA.
However the two sides have now reached an “amicable settlement” and the fee has eliminated two press releases from its web site.
