International Secretary Dominic Raab has defended the relief of some lockdown measures from 1 June, regardless of the federal government’s alert stage not but formally being at stage three.
The five-level, colour-coded alert system helps the federal government resolve how powerful social distancing measures must be, with a gradual rest of the principles at stage three.
Mr Raab advised the BBC’s Andrew Marr that at the moment “we’re transitioning from stage 4 to stage three, so we stay at stage 4”.
