Boris Johnson has mentioned Nato leaders will stand collectively in protest towards the “outrageous” hijacking over Belarus.
There was worldwide condemnation over the detention of journalist Roman Protasevich and his Russian girlfriend, after the flight they had been travelling on was compelled to land in Minsk.
The prime minister was talking alongside Nato Basic Secretary Jens Stoltenberg as they met in Downing Road forward of a summit of Nato leaders in Brussels subsequent month.
Mr Stoltenberg mentioned it was vital that sanctions imposed in response to the incident are “absolutely carried out” and that Nato allies can be seeking to “step up additional” of their response.
