Kirsten Oswald will work alongside the SNP’s Westminster chief Ian Blackford
Kirsten Oswald MP has been elected unopposed as the brand new SNP Westminster deputy chief.
Mrs Oswald, who gained the East Renfrewshire seat from the Conservatives within the 2019 common election, replaces Kirsty Blackman.
Ms Blackman stepped down final week, citing the influence of lockdown on her psychological well being.
Mrs Oswald, who will work alongside the SNP’s Westminster chief Ian Blackford, mentioned she was delighted to be elected.
She added: “As we proceed to deal with coronavirus, SNP MPs will press the UK authorities to ship the monetary powers and help that individuals, public providers and companies in Scotland must handle this unprecedented emergency and safe a robust restoration.
