The £900,000 refurbishment of RAF Voyager – the airplane utilized by the Royal Household and the prime minister – has been accomplished.

Beforehand gray, the plane was repainted within the colors of the Union flag to “higher characterize” the UK overseas, Downing Avenue stated.

The work was carried out by the Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, who informed the BBC the airplane was a lot greater than ones they’d often work on.

The price of the work was criticised by Labour, the SNP and the Liberal Democrats.

The RAF Voyager, an Airbus A330 jet, was repurposed to be used by the UK authorities in 2015, at a value of £10m.

It was first used to take former Prime Minister David Cameron and different ministers to the Nato summit in Poland in July 2016.

On the time, the federal government defended the expenditure, saying it was cheaper than chartering flights and would save about £775,000 a 12 months.
