Rishi Sunak, his wife Akshata Murty and their two daughters lit diyas outside 10 Downing Street on Sunday to mark Diwali.
The UK’s first British Asian prime minister and his family later joined Diwali celebrations in Southampton.
The five days of Diwali are known as the festival of lights, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness and the start of new beginnings for millions of people of the Hindu, Sikh and Jain faiths.
