Speaking on the first day of the campaign, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has said he believes the Conservatives have the “right plan” and are capable of delivering a “secure future”.
On Wednesday, Mr Sunak called a general election for 4 July, saying he was proud of the government’s record.
