Oct 8 (Reuters)Boeing Co BA.N is in discussions with Alaska Air ALK.N for a possible deal to purchase 737 MAX jets as soon as the airplane returns to service following a prolonged grounding, three folks acquainted with the matter stated.

The talks are a part of a collection of negotiations between Boeing and airways over jet orders or compensation after the 737 MAX was banned worldwide following two deadly crashes.
