BRUSSELS, Dec 5 (Reuters) – An affiliation representing minority buyers in Brazil is lobbying European antitrust regulators to spike a deal between planemakers Embraer SA EMBR3.SA and Boeing Co BA.N, calling it a killer acquisition.
Aurelio Valporto, the pinnacle of minority investor affiliation Abradin, mentioned the European Fee ought to block Boeing’s proposed $4.2 billion buy of 80% Embraer’s business passenger jet division or demand hefty concessions.
“What might be left from Embraer will not survive, and even when it was attainable to outlive, Embraer would not have the ability to produce any plane with 50 passengers or extra,” Valporto mentioned in an interview late on Wednesday, arguing that Embraer and Boeing planes compete within the market.
