SAO PAULO, Jan 10 (Reuters) – Brazil’s authorities on Friday mentioned it was pushing forward with plans to permit mining on tribal lands, briefing European diplomats on proposals which have drawn criticism from indigenous advocates in Brazil and abroad.
Mining and Power Minister Bento Albuquerque informed the diplomats that “vital management” from native communities had requested for the chance to mine on their lands, in response to a public assertion on the ministry’s web site.

European leaders have voiced considerations that his insurance policies will improve deforestation and threaten indigenous cultures.
“There’s loads of misinformation concerning this situation, so it will be important that the worldwide group hearken to what the federal government has to say,” mentioned Alexandre Vidigal, secretary for geology and mining on the ministry, within the assertion.
