OTTAWA, Feb 28 (Reuters) – Canada’s finance ministry is in touch with worldwide companions and the Financial institution of Canada over the financial affect of the coronavirus, and it has the fiscal firepower to counter fallout if the state of affairs drags on, an official stated on Friday.
Finance Minister Invoice Morneau “is in common discussions with the Governor of the Financial institution of Canada on this matter and we’re discussing the state of affairs with our worldwide companions,” the minister’s spokeswoman, Maeva Proteau, stated.
“Our authorities’s sturdy fiscal place means we proceed to have all the required instruments to reply in instances of continued fluctuations within the home and international markets,” she added.
