Nov 25 (Reuters) – Canada’s Nutrien Ltd NTR.TO, the world’s largest fertilizer firm by capability, mentioned on Monday it could briefly shut its largest potash mine on account of a railway strike.
The strike by some 3,200 unionized workers at Canadian Nationwide Railway Co CNR.TO entered its seventh day, leaving greater than 30 vessels ready on Canada’s West Coast.
Nutrien and rival Mosaic Co MOS.N export potash from a terminal on the coast via their collectively owned logistics firm, Canpotex Ltd.
Nutrien mentioned in an announcement that it could shut its Rocanville, Saskatchewan mine for 2 weeks beginning Dec. 2.
