Chalco Q3 revenue slumps, aluminium output falls 10%

BEIJING, Oct 30 (Reuters)Aluminum Corp of China Ltd 601600.SS, 2600.HK posted a pointy fall in each aluminium output and gross sales within the third quarter, information launched on Wednesday confirmed, after the corporate earlier reported a droop in quarterly revenue.

Chalco, the listed arm of state-owned aluminium agency Chinalco, reported a 10.4% year-on-year fall in aluminium manufacturing in July-September to 950,000 tonnes, in an information sheet for analysts reviewed by Reuters.

Aluminium gross sales fell by a steeper 13.8% to 940,000 tonnes, indicating lacklustre demand in China, the world’s prime shopper of the steel.

The declines comes after Chalco closed a 200,000 tonnes per 12 months plant in jap China’s Shandong province in January on account of excessive electrical energy prices, and mentioned later it could switch 190,000 tonnes of capability from northern China to an affiliate in Yunnan.

Its output nonetheless topped Russian rival United Firm Rusal 0486.HK, which…
