BEIJING, Dec 30 (Reuters)China authorised two new genetically modified (GM) crops for import on Monday that would increase agricultural purchases from the USA, whereas renewing 10 different GM imports, the agriculture ministry stated in an announcement.

The 2 new GM crops authorised are American merchandise, together with a soybean product developed by Dow AgroSciences DOW.N and a papaya selection collectively developed by the USA Division of Agriculture and Hawaii College.

The transfer comes after Beijing and Washington agreed to signal a Part 1 commerce deal. America has demanded that China change its GM crop import utility course of to make it extra clear, well timed and based mostly on scientific strategies.
