June 4 (Reuters) – China’s feed grain trade is unlikely to develop into self-sufficient regardless of the nation’s efforts to ramp up home manufacturing, David MacLennan, chief govt of Cargill Inc CARG.UL mentioned on Friday.
Tightening home provides of feed grains and hovering demand from China’s pork producers has triggered report feed grain import purchases this yr.
The surge in import demand has come regardless of directives by Beijing to spice up home grain output and reformulate pig and poultry feed rations to cut back reliance on imported corn and soy.
