Explosion at Engen refinery in South Africa’s Durban, metro police say

CAPE TOWN, Dec 4 (Reuters)There was an explosion on Friday morning at Engen’s oil refinery in Durban, a Durban metropolitan police official informed Reuters, including that police had not but acquired stories about whether or not there had been accidents or deaths.

An Engen spokesman informed Reuters he would remark later in a press release. In response to Engen’s web site, the Durban refinery has a crude refining capability of 120,000 barrels per day.

It’s the second-largest crude refinery in South Africa.
