CAPE TOWN, Dec 4 (Reuters)There was an explosion at South Africa’s second-largest crude oil refinery in Durban on Friday morning, a neighborhood metropolitan police official advised Reuters, including it was not but clear whether or not there had been accidents or deaths.

A spokesman for Engen, which operates the refinery, stated he would remark later in a press release.

In accordance with Engen’s web site, the Durban plant has a crude refining capability of 120,000 barrels per day.

It was not instantly clear if there was any affect on the refinery’s manufacturing.

Africa’s most industrialised financial system has six refineries, 4 utilizing crude oil and two artificial gas as feedstock. It’s a web importer of petroleum merchandise.
