PARIS, Dec 14 (Reuters) – French media conglomerate Vivendi VIV.PA introduced on Monday that it was in talks to purchase French publishing home Prisma Media from Germany’s Bertelsmann BTGGg.F.
Vivendi, whose essential shareholder Vincent Bollore is vying with rival billionaire and LVMH LVMH.PA boss Bernard Arnault for extra affect at French media group Lagardere LAGA.PA, stated Prisma Media was France’s primary press publishing group, with main titles resembling Femme Actuelle, Capital, Gala and Tele-Loisirs.
Based in 1835 as a writer of theological texts, Bertelsmann is a non-public conglomerate spanning journal, academic and music publishing. The corporate additionally controls European TV group RTL RRTL.DE.
Final month, Bertelsmann agreed to buy writer Simon & Schuster for $2.175 billion in money from ViacomCBS, strengthening its presence in the US.
