KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 (Reuters) – India’s restrictions on imports of refined palm oil will result in a worth struggle between the world’s two greatest suppliers of the commodity, Indonesia and Malaysia, the Palm Oil Refiners Affiliation of Malaysia mentioned on Thursday.
The Indian Ministry of Commerce and Trade issued a notification on Wednesday declaring that the import of refined palm oil “is amended from ‘Free’ to ‘Restricted.’
“This places Indonesia and Malaysia at loggerheads,” Jamil Haron, chairman of Palm Oil Refiners Affiliation of Malaysia, instructed Reuters. “There can be a worth struggle between Indonesia and Malaysia, and we’re on the shedding finish.”
