BAGHDAD, Dec 21 (Reuters) – Iraq is able to export 700,000 tonnes of barley to Iran at a worth of $125 per tonne, the Iraqi agriculture ministry’s spokesman instructed Reuters on Monday.
Exporting a surplus barley crop can be a primary for the nation, and it had stated beforehand that Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey had expressed curiosity in shopping for its grain in a young.
“Iraq’s cupboard has granted this quantity to Iran as there are funds owed by the Iraqi authorities to Iran,” Hamid al-Nayef stated.
Negotiations to finalize the ministerial decree by which the barley can be exported are ongoing and Iraq hoped Iran would tackle the portions rapidly, Nayef added.
