Updates with particulars, background
FRANKFURT, April 2 (Reuters) – German airline Lufthansa LHAG.DE stated on Friday that it could resume flights from Frankfurt to Tehran from April 16.
Lufthansa had suspended flights in January 2020 after a Ukranian airliner was shot down quickly after take-off from Tehran.
The airline stated it has since assessed safety measures by Iran with nationwide and worldwide authorities.
“The circumstances for secure flight operations in Iranian airspace are at the moment in place,” it stated in an emailed assertion.
