ABUJA, Feb 24 (Reuters) – Nigeria has chosen a consortium together with Egypt Air [RIC:RIC:EGY.UL] to arrange an aviation leasing firm as a part of a authorities plan to overtake the nation’s aviation sector.
Many years of neglect and an absence of funding have left Nigeria with low-quality infrastructure seen as a hurdle to financial improvement. The federal government has mentioned upgrading infrastructure would require personal funding.
It has been searching for personal companions to arrange an plane leasing firm to assist home and African carriers receive new planes.
The Ministry of Aviation mentioned on Monday it has picked the Egypt Air consortium for the aviation leasing firm, which the federal government goals to arrange as a non-public/public partnership.
