Shares of AirAsia, AirAsia X fall after CEO, chairman step apart

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 (Reuters) - Shares of finances airline AirAsia Group AIRA.KL and its long-haul


KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 (Reuters)Shares of finances airline AirAsia Group AIRA.KL and its long-haul subsidiary, AirAsia X AIRX.KL, fell in early commerce on Tuesday after the group’s CEO Tony Fernandes and Chairman Kamarudin Meranun stated they’d step apart for 2 months.

Each Fernandes and Kamarudin introduced late Monday that they’d step apart as authorities examine allegations that Airbus AIR.PA had paid a bribe of $50 million to win airplane orders from the AirAsia.

AirAsia Group’s shares fell 5% as markets opened in Kuala Lumpur, whereas AirAsia X shares misplaced 8%.
