Feb 21 (Reuters) – Outside attire retailer Timberland is testing web shoppers’ willingness to assist the surroundings by slowing down supply as Amazon.com AMZN.O drives retailers towards pricier, extra polluting one-day transport.
New Hampshire-based Timberland, a part of VF Corp VFC.N, since August has supplied to plant a tree each time prospects select to have their orders delivered in 4-Eight days versus the usual three days.
Prospects hit the brakes on greater than 18% of all Timberland orders throughout the vacation season’s Black Friday to Cyber Monday buying spike. Acceptance has averaged about 14% and resulted in about 55,000 tree plantings thus far.
