WASHINGTON, Dec 26 (Reuters)The highest U.S. aviation regulator on Thursday proposed a rule that will permit for distant monitoring of most drones in U.S airspace.

The Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA, mentioned the proposed rule would require all drones working in the US to be compliant inside three years.

Congress directed the FAA in 2016 to concern laws or steering by July 2018 to allow the general public, the FAA, legislation enforcement and others to remotely monitor and establish drones and their operators throughout flight.

The race has been on for corporations to create drone fleets as a complement for on-line retailers.

United Parcel Service Inc UPS.N mentioned in October that it gained the federal government’s first full approval to function a drone airline, which gave it a lead within the nascent drone supply enterprise over rivals Amazon.com Inc AMZN.O and Alphabet Inc GOOGL.O.
