PARIS, Dec 23 (Reuters) – Vivendi VIV.PA mentioned on Wednesday it had agreed to purchase Prisma Media from Germany’s Bertelsmann BTGGg.F, bolstering its presence within the French publishing sector.
The French media large managed by billionaire Vincent Bollore didn’t present any monetary particulars on the anticipated deal, which concludes unique negotiations which have been introduced with the German group every week in the past.
Bollore is vying with rival billionaire and LVMH LVMH.PA boss Bernard Arnault for extra affect at French media group Lagardere LAGA.PA, house to family names such because the Journal du Dimanche, Paris Match and the Europe 1 radio station.
Vivendi has described Prisma as France’s primary press publishing group, with main titles similar to Femme Actuelle, Capital, Gala and Tele-Loisirs.
