The CFTC introduced Thursday it was charging BitMEX, CEO Arthur Hayes, firm house owners Ben Delo and Samual Reed, and company entities HDR International Buying and selling Restricted, 100x Holding Restricted, ABS International Buying and selling Restricted, Shine Effort Inc Restricted and HDR International Providers (Bermuda) Restricted with providing U.S. prospects illicit crypto spinoff buying and selling companies.
In a press launch, the CFTC alleged that BitMEX acquired some $11 billion in bitcoin deposits and made greater than $1 billion in charges, “whereas conducting vital elements of its enterprise from the U.S. and accepting orders and funds from U.S. prospects.”
The CFTC charged BitMEX with executing futures transactions on an unregistered board, providing unlawful choices, failing to register as a futures fee service provider, failing to register as a delegated contract market, failing to implement correct know-your-customer guidelines and different counts.
