covid cases today: Covid News Live: India records 5,880 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours

Covid News Live: India logged 5,880 new coronavirus cases, while the active cases have increased to 35,199, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

The death toll has increased to 5,30,979 with 14 deaths. While four deaths each were reported from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, one each was reported from Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra and Rajasthan and two reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.91 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 3.67 per cent.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh reported 319 new Covid cases, highest single-day spike of this year, taking the number of active cases to 1,192, also the highest this year.

The rise in daily Covid-19 cases and a death in the past one week have come as an alarm bell which needs to be taken seriously, said experts while appealing to the people not to ignore safety protocols in the coming days.

Air India Delhi-London (AI-111) flight turns around due to an ‘unruly’ passenger onboard

Bangladesh’s forex reserves fall to around 6-year low

  • Elon Musk has sparked a row with the BBC after labelling the broadcaster as a “government-funded media” organisation, however, Britain’s national broadcaster was quick to push back against the categorization, reported CNN.

Delhi: Pregnant woman shot dead by neighbour for objecting to loud music, two arrested
