Local dancers brought home plenty of hardware after competing in the Central Alberta Dance Festival in Red Deer recently.

Dancers from Andy and Tina’s Dance FX competed against studios from Calgary, Fort Saskatchewan, Red Deer and Lacombe.
“They performed so well, and represented Wetaskiwin with pride,” said Dance FX owner Tina Sjwed.
Among many high gold and platinum awards, Dance FX was also awarded with the top Soloist in 10 and under (Zoe Oliver), top soloist 11-12 yrs (Maleana Amyotte), top soloist 14-15 yrs (Meredith Mohler) and top soloist 16 and over (Brea Humbke).
Dance FX was also the winner of the final dance off in both the 12 and under division, which was a jazz dance choreographed by Andy Sjwed, and the 13 and over division a lyrical routine.
“We are so proud of their hard work,” said Sjwed.
