The Enforcement Directorate is questioning Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on a FEMA violation case relating to a Jaipur-based company called Triton Hotels and Resorts Pvt Ltd, and Vardha Enterprises. The directors of this company are Shiv Shankar Sharma and Rattan Kant Sharma, Triton allegedly received an investment worth crores from a Mauritius-based company called Shivnar Holding Ltd. violating FEMA regulations as Rs 100 shares were sold for Rs 29,500 to Shivnar, which is a windfall, and the money was routed back to India. Vaibhav Gehlot is being questioned over his links with Rattan Kant Sharma. Vaibhav owns a taxi company called Sunlight Car Rentals, in which he was once a partner with Rattan. Vaibhav has gone on record to say this is a 12-year-old case dating back to 2007-2008, and he has no idea why it’s being raked up just before the elections.
