Rajasthan has reported its first suspected case of monkeypox. A 20-year-old, exhibiting symptoms of the disease, has been admitted to a government hospital and his samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune, Dr. Ajit Singh, Superintendent of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, said on Monday.

A special PMLA court in Mumbai has sent Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut to Enforcement Directorate’s custody till August 4. Raut was arrested yesterday by ED in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam case in Mumbai following hours of conducting raids at his residence. He was produced in special court in Mumbai and ED had sought 8-day custody. Sanjay Raut was summoned four times but he had appeared before the agency only once. During this, Sanjay Raut tried to tamper with the evidence and key witnesses, ED’s lawyer argued.
