With a deal reached between actors and Hollywood studios, movies and shows are slowly restarting production.
The FX series Alien will start filming again in January or February of next year, showrunner Noah Hawley told Deadline.
“We’re getting back into production as quickly as possible,” Hawley said on Wednesday.
Production halted on the sci-fi series amid the SAG-AFTRA strike in August.
This year has been challenging for the entertainment industry after Hollywood writers and actors went on strike. Both groups have since reached deals with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. The months-long standoff reverberations are still being felt as Hollywood attempts to return to business as usual.
Hawley’s Alien series, executive produced by Ridley Scott, reportedly takes place on Earth 70 years before the events of the movie franchise starring Sigourney Weaver.
The show’s cast includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Kit Young. When production began on the show in July, Chandler – a SAG-AFTRA member – was on the picket line.
