The discharge of sci-fi epic “Dune” has been delayed till subsequent October, based on Deadline. 

The movie from Warner Bros. and Legendary Photos has already had its launch pushed again because of the coronavirus pandemic. It was initially slated to open in film theaters subsequent month. 

Deadline reported that the postponed date coincides with the discharge of Warner Bros.’ “The Batman,” which means that the comedian ebook film’s launch might even have a brand new date.

“Dune” is the newest would-be blockbuster to see its launch pushed again. On Friday, the producers behind “No Time to Die,” the newest James Bond film, stated that it might open in theaters in April 2021, a yr after its authentic launch date. 

Cineworld, which owns Regal Cinemas, stated this weekend it might shut all of its U.Okay. and U.S. theaters in response to lagging ticket gross sales and the delayed releases of blockbusters.  

A consultant for Warner Bros. didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark from CNBC.

Denis Villeneuve is directing this newest adaptation of Frank Herbert’s influential 1960s sci-fi novel. The movie stars Timothee Chalamet, Oscar Isaac and Zendaya, amongst others.
