New York’s Legal professional Normal didn’t show that Exxon mislead shareholders over the true price of local weather change, a decide dominated Tuesday, ending the oil big’s multiyear battle towards the state.
“The Workplace of the Legal professional Normal didn’t show, by a preponderance of the proof, that ExxonMobil made any materials misstatements or omissions about its practices and procedures that misled any cheap investor,” Choose Barry Ostrager of the trial-level state Supreme Courtroom wrote in his ruling.
“The workplace of the Legal professional Normal produced no testimony from any investor who claimed to have been misled by any disclosure, despite the fact that the Workplace of the Legal professional Normal had beforehand represented it could name such people as trial witnesses,” he added.
