As Main League Baseball will get ready to usher in a brand new decade, it has achieved one other milestone earlier than the calendar flips to 2020.

In keeping with a report by Forbes, the MLB grossed a document $10.7 billion in income for the 2019 season, a rise from the $10.three billion the prior 12 months.

The MLB didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.

The rise in income isn’t surprising because the MLB continues to profit from media rights offers with ESPN, Turner Sports activities, and FOX, which in 2018 agreed to an extension valued at $5.1 billion and runs by the 2028 season.

Final season, the MLB grossed roughly $1.5 billion when combining the annual funds from all three networks. Offers with ESPN and Turner are set to run out in 2021.

In his state of the league interview, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told CNBC the league is open to exploring much more income by including one other media associate.
