Jake Berry MP has stayed on Anglesey after his spouse turned unwell earlier than the lockdown, the Conservatives say

A Conservative MP who has been staying at his home on Anglesey throughout the coronavirus lockdown has been there since February, the celebration has stated.

Jake Berry, the MP for Rossendale and Darwen, has attracted criticism on social media after being noticed at his property at Rhoscolyn, close to Holyhead.

Conservative spokesperson stated Mr Berry was on Anglesey when a member of the family began displaying Covid-19 signs.

The celebration added Mr Berry is following authorities pointers.

“Throughout a go to to Wales a member of the family of Mr Berry began displaying indicators of Coronavirus, this go to was previous to the Authorities resolution to lockdown,” the celebration stated.

“They adopted NHS recommendation to self-isolate and have been self-isolating as lockdown got here in. They’ve stayed in Wales throughout lockdown and proceed to observe authorities pointers.

“Jake and his household proceed to adjust to UK and Wales steerage on lockdown.”

Questions have been requested on social media as to why Mr Berry was on the island throughout the lockdown interval.

The Conservative MP for Ynys Mon, Virginia Crosby, stated Mr Berry had been following pointers.

She stated: “Mr and Mrs Berry have been dwelling right here within the island since February – it’s their dwelling. They’ve a really younger household – with three youngsters aged three and underneath.

“Sadly, Mrs Berry has been unwell in Bangor Hospital for a month – so understandably the household has stored a really low profile.

“The Berrys have been right here since earlier than the lockdown was introduced – it’s their dwelling – and so they have assured me that they’ve adopted all Welsh Authorities pointers.

“Other than visiting Bangor Hospital Mr Berry has not left the island since earlier than lockdown again in March.”
